Canada's global reputation is in tatters, and the reasons why are plain to see...It was the Canadian government who fired the opening salvo of the talks, when news broke that they planned to withdraw from the Kyoto Protocol...They promised to "play hardball" with impoverished, developing countries, and dismissed as a "historical guilty card" the demand for industrialized nations to take responsibility for two centuries of emissions.
