Secure FTP and SCP

Due to security concerns, we do not allow File Transfer Protocol (FTP) connections to any resist.ca services. This is because each time you log in with ftp, your password is sent over the network in clear text. If that password were to be viewed by hackers or the man while in transit, your email, files and the resist server would be compromised. Instead, you can use the secure replacements to ftp to upload your files. Recommended SCP/SFTP Applications.

web.resist.ca - SCP/SFTP for resist.ca websites

The server web.resist.ca hosts all the personal website of resist.ca users, except some specialize web applications. Accounts on this server automatically have SCP/SFTP access to the server.

In general, when using SCP or SFTP, you need to know the following to connect:

Host name: web.resist.ca
Port: 22 (this should be selected automatically)
SSH Version: TLS is preferable, 2 is acceptable

Otherwise you will need to know your username and password to login. Here's a list of recommended and supported SCP/SFTP applications.

shell.resist.ca - SCP/SFTP for resist.ca email accounts

Read about ssh access to read your email in our Email help docs.
