Kirst's Popcorn Ball Recipes

Popcorn balls are a fun treat for both Halloween and Christmas. You can dye the balls orange for Halloween, and red or green for Christmas. You can also wrap white popcorn balls up in colored cellophane or colored Saran Wrap to give them a holiday feel.

White Popcorn Balls
2 c white sugar * 1 c light corn syrup * 1/4 c butter * 1/4 c water * salt to taste * 1 t vanilla * 5 quarts popped popcorn

Put the sugar, syrup, butter and water into a pan over medium heat. Stir and keep heating until it reaches the hard-crack stage (300 degrees F). Remove from heat, add vanilla, and mix well. Pour over popcorn while stirring. Wait 5 minutes, then shape into balls.
