The Coffeehouse Showcase is a monthly event featuring selected artists from coffeehouse.ca's online artist community.  December 10 featured Joy Thompson (roots folk), Monica Kuebler (spoken word), Planet4 (alternative pop) and Belladonna (mighty oracle).

This has to be my best show of all time.  Some stroke of luck or fate brought together the most powerful ensemble of all time to play with me that night, and the energy, the connection onstage was cosmic, the rhythm giving birth to a new and unique beast, as it does with all good improv.  Each musician giving themselves up to the life-affirming moment of being truly immersed in a collective experience.  My thanks to:

It all really came together on "I'm So Low" and the vibe stayed intense through that set, and across the city into a jam at the Red Lantern where we ran into Pat Kelly, and were blessed by Pierre 's piano playing and zAyla's captivating vocals.  The girl can sang. " Let's do it again," I said, and unless they were yanking my chain, the magic lives again at the Rivoli, Friday January 21st, where Latte D Kyd has organized a benefit for the Rape Crisis Centre, featuring Toronto's top ladies of the mic.
